So You Think You Can Dance…at Your Wedding

Youtube supports my theory that all those So-You-Think-You-Can-Dance-With-the Stars shows have influenced America’s terpsichorean rhythms.
Check out this wedding video segment featuring the bridal couple’s first dance.
Notice anything funny? They are so polished and funny and fun. This isn’t a wedding reception, it’s a floor show. And other happy couples are following the trend.Having done time as a wedding attendant over the years, I know dance lessons have been in vogue for the couple for years but it’s getting very polished–I think it’s due to the reality-TV shows. Indeed, with the TV industry shut down due to the WGA Strike, I think some programmer should commission a clip show of first dance wedding videos or do a reality TV show called “Wedding Dance Studio,” chronicling a couple’s wedding dance classes. It can’t be any worse than “Viva Las Vegas”
