Think Tank LA revs our motors
Jan 6th, 2009 by LA Brain Terrain
I am enjoying Think Tank LA, Jeremy Rosenberg’s blog about LA’s public policy scene. Ostensibly written to investigate L.A.’s role as the capital of America’s new urbanism, the blog seems more like an intellectual version of Huell Howser’s “Visitin”” series. I don’t mean that as a diss. I’m enjoying glimpses into the area’s many think tanks and hope there’s more interviews with leading think tank denizens. I’d also like to see more explanation as to how to define a think tank. Does Rosenberg count only independent research institutions or does he count the many centers and institutes affiliated in local universities?
Curious about the region’s plethora of think tanks? Take a look at the LA Brain Terrain right-hand sidebar for a list of some of the more visible institutions in our fair city.

hey LBT, belated thanks for the good word! We’re very excited about Jeremy’s blog and the direction he’ll be going in over the coming months. Not to indulge in the obvious cliche, but the general yen for, like, change in the country means that organizations like think tanks will be in great demand as people look for solutions for the problems they face. Which means there will also be great demand for think tank observers/analyst like Jeremy (and LA Brain Terrain!)
